We are seeking a compassionate and skilled **Special Educator** who is **RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) certified** to provide individualized and group support to students with disabilities. The educator will be responsible for creating and implementing effective teaching strategies to support students with special needs in both academic and functional skills. The role requires knowledge of inclusive education, IEP (Individualized Education Plan) development, and the ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to promote student success.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Specialized Instruction**:
- Develop, implement, and monitor tailored educational programs for students with disabilities, focusing on individual learning needs.
- Use a variety of teaching methods, materials, and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles, including those with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, physical disabilities, and other developmental challenges.
- Support students in both academic areas (reading, writing, math) and life skills (social skills, communication, adaptive skills).
- **Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)**:
- Develop, implement, and review IEPs for students with disabilities in collaboration with parents, general educators, and other specialists.
- Monitor the progress of students on their IEP goals, adjusting instruction and interventions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all local regulations and guidelines for special education services.
- **Inclusion and Classroom Support**:
- Promote inclusive education practices by collaborating with general education teachers to support students in mainstream classrooms.
- Provide classroom support, modify lessons, and assist in the implementation of accommodations to ensure students with disabilities can fully participate in the general curriculum.
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and academic growth for all students.
- **Assessment and Progress Monitoring**:
- Conduct assessments of students’ academic and functional skills to determine appropriate interventions and teaching strategies.
- Regularly monitor and document student progress and adjust interventions as necessary.
- Prepare reports on student progress for parents, school administration, and other stakeholders.
- **Behavioral Support and Intervention**:
- Develop and implement behavior management plans for students with behavioral challenges, working in collaboration with parents and other school staff.
- Support students in developing positive social and emotional behaviors and improving their self-regulation skills.
- Provide training and support to other staff on effective behavioral intervention techniques.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with other special education teachers, general education teachers, counselors, and school psychologists to ensure a holistic approach to student development.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, IEP reviews, and school-wide planning for student success.
- Engage with parents and guardians to provide updates on students’ progress and collaborate on strategies for improvement.
- **Professional Development**:
- Stay updated on the latest practices and guidelines related to special education, including changes in local laws, research, and resources.
- Participate in professional development workshops, seminars, and courses to enhance knowledge and teaching skills.
- Advocate for students with disabilities and promote awareness of inclusive education within the school community.
- **Documentation and Compliance**:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, assessments, IEPs, and other relevant documents.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines set forth by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and other educational authorities.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- **Certification**: RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) certification as a Special Educator is required.
- **Experience**:
- Previous experience working with children with disabilities, preferably in a school setting.
- Experience in developing and implementing IEPs and using data-driven approaches to support student learning.
**Work Environment**:
- Full-time, on-site position.
- Standard school hours, with additional time for meetings, planning, and professional development.
- Occasional travel for workshops or conferences may be required.

- Strong knowledge of various disabilities and best practices in special education.
- Ability to create and implement individualized and group instruction for students with special needs.
