**Job Summary**:
The ultrasound reporter is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to capture diagnostic images of internal body structures. These images aid healthcare providers in diagnosing medical conditions, monitoring patient health, and planning treatments. The ultrasound reporter must ensure proper patient positioning, ensure the images produced are of high quality, and assist in preparing reports for the attending physician.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Patient Interaction**:
- Greet patients and explain the ultrasound procedure.
- Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns during the procedure.
- Document patient medical history and relevant information for the procedure.
- **Conducting Ultrasound Exams**:
- Prepare and maintain ultrasound equipment for various procedures.
- Perform ultrasounds on different parts of the body, such as the abdomen, pelvis, musculoskeletal system, and blood vessels.
- Operate ultrasound machinery to capture high-quality images or video of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow.
- Adjust settings on ultrasound machines to optimize image quality.
- **Documentation and Reporting**:
- Review and analyze ultrasound images for accuracy and clarity.
- Maintain detailed patient records and document the results of the ultrasound exams.
- Prepare diagnostic reports with image findings and observations to assist the physician in their diagnosis.
- **Collaboration**:
- Work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to interpret ultrasound results.
- Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure that patients receive accurate and timely diagnoses.
- **Maintaining Equipment and Safety Standards**:
- Ensure all ultrasound equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning.
- Adhere to safety protocols to protect patients and self from any risks associated with the ultrasound procedures.
- **Patient Education and Follow-up**:
- Provide post-procedure instructions and follow-up care as needed.
- Educate patients about the benefits, risks, and aftercare associated with ultrasound imaging.
**Qualifications**:
- **Education**: A degree or diploma in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field.
- **Certification**: Certification through a recognized body (such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)) may be required.
- **Experience**: minimum 3 to 5 years.
- **Skills**:
- Knowledge of medical imaging technology and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze images.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients and medical teams.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain patient confidentiality.
**Work Environment**:
- Ultrasound reporters typically work in hospitals, medical centers, clinics, or diagnostic imaging centers.
- The role may involve standing for extended periods, as well as lifting or adjusting equipment.
Pay: ₹8,086.00 - ₹32,224.66 per month
