Role Overview:
As a Houdini Artist, you will be responsible for creating complex and visually stunning simulations. You will work closely with the VFX Supervisor, and other team members to produce high-quality effects that align with the project’s vision. Your expertise in Houdini and your ability to solve technical challenges will be crucial in achieving the desired results.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and create complex simulations (e.g., smoke, fire, fluids, destruction) using Houdini.
- Collaborate with the VFX Supervisor and other team members to develop creative solutions and deliver exceptional results.
- Optimize and refine simulations to ensure efficiency without compromising quality.
- Maintain a high standard of work, ensuring that all simulations are technically accurate and meet the project requirements.
- Work within established workflows and contribute to developing new techniques to enhance the quality and efficiency of the team.
- Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to simulations and rendering.

Qualifications:

- 4-5 years of professional experience working as a Houdini Artist in a VFX or animation studio.
- Proficiency in Houdini, with a strong focus on simulation work (e.g., fluid dynamics, RBD, pyro, cloth).
- Solid understanding of 3D principles, including modeling, texturing, and shading.
- Experience with rendering engines like Mantra, Redshift, or Arnold is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A portfolio or demo reel showcasing your simulation work in Houdini.

Preferred Skills:

- Familiarity with scripting and automation within Houdini (e.g., Python, VEX).
- Experience in other 3D software like Maya, Blender, or Cinema 4D.
- Knowledge of compositing software such as Nuke or After Effects.
- Ability to mentor junior artists and provide constructive feedback.
