Job Title: Theatre Artist (Actor/Performer)

**Responsibilities**:
As a Theatre Teaching Artist, you will:
- **Design and deliver engaging drama lessons and activities** tailored for students in Grades 1-5, focusing on core theatre concepts such as:
- Improvisation and creative play
- Pantomime and movement
- Voice projection and articulation
- Character development (identifying traits, emotions)
- Storytelling and plot (beginning, middle, end)
- Basic stage directions and spatial awareness
- Ensemble building and collaboration
- **Facilitate imaginative and interactive drama games** (e.g., mirroring, gibberish, emotion games, "Yes, Let's") that encourage self-expression and confidence.
- **Guide students in collaborative storytelling and scene work**, using their voices, bodies, and imaginations.
- **Introduce basic elements of theatrical production** in an accessible way (e.g., simple props, costumes, and set pieces).
- **Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment** where all children feel comfortable taking risks and expressing themselves.
- **Encourage active listening, respectful interaction, and teamwork** among students.
- **Observe and assess student progress** in developing theatrical skills and social-emotional competencies.
- **Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and school administration** regarding student progress and program activities.
- **Prepare and organize teaching materials** and resources.
**Qualifications**:
- **Proven experience working with children in Grades 1-5** in an educational or creative arts setting.
- **Demonstrated understanding of child development** and age-appropriate teaching methodologies for primary school students.
- **Strong foundation in various theatre techniques** (e.g., improvisation, storytelling, movement, vocal exercises).
- **Excellent communication and interpersonal skills**, with the ability to connect effectively with young children, parents, and colleagues.
- **Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion** for inspiring creativity in young learners.
- **Ability to adapt lesson plans** to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
- **Strong organizational skills** for planning lessons and managing classroom activities.
