Job Title: Head of Department (HOD) - IB English

**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage the IB English department, including recruiting, hiring, and evaluating teaching staff.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for IB English courses, ensuring alignment with IB standards and requirements.
- Provide guidance and support to faculty members in lesson planning, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
- Conduct regular department meetings to discuss curriculum updates, student progress, and instructional issues.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the IB English program through ongoing assessment, data analysis, and feedback mechanisms.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the department, promoting professional growth and development opportunities for staff.
- Stay updated on current trends, best practices, and research in IB education and English language teaching.
- Serve as a liaison between the English department, school administration, parents, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate and oversee extracurricular activities related to English language and literature, such as literary clubs, writing competitions, and author visits.
- Ensure compliance with IB regulations, policies, and procedures related to the administration and delivery of IB English courses.
- Support students' academic and personal growth through mentoring, counseling, and academic advising.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Master's degree or higher in English literature, education, or a related field.
- Teaching certification or license, with a specialization in IB English (IB certification preferred).
- Proven experience teaching IB English courses at the high school level, with a track record of successful student outcomes.
- Previous leadership experience in a similar role, preferably as a department head or curriculum coordinator.
- Deep understanding of the IB English curriculum, assessment principles, and pedagogical approaches.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower faculty members.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to inform decision-making and drive improvement.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of developments in IB education.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: ₹85,000.00 - ₹90,000.00 per month
