A Structural Draftsman plays a vital role in the construction and engineering industries by creating detailed drawings and plans for structural projects. They work closely with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure designs are accurate, meet industry standards, and align with project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting and Design:

- Develop detailed structural drawings and layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD,

Revit).
- Create plans for buildings, bridges, foundations, and other structures.
- Prepare technical drawings for steel, concrete, and wooden structures, including

reinforcement details.

2. Collaboration:

- Work with engineers and architects to understand project requirements.
- Revise drawings based on feedback from team members and clients.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (e.g., electrical and plumbing) to avoid design

conflicts.

3. Documentation:

- Maintain an organized archive of drawings and revisions.
- Ensure that all drawings comply with local building codes and industry standards.
- Generate bill of materials (BOM) and quantity estimates based on designs.

4. Technical Review:

- Conduct checks to verify dimensions, materials, and structural integrity.
- Analyze sketches, notes, and data to determine the best methods for creating

technical drawings.

5. Software and Tools:

- Utilize specialized software for 2D and 3D modeling.
- Stay updated on advancements in drafting technology and software updates.

Qualifications:

- Education: Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field.
- Experience: 1+ years in a similar role preferred.
- Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla).
- Knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and structural principles.
- Ability to interpret and develop detailed plans from sketches or verbal instructions.
- Soft Skills:

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

Career Prospects:
Structural Draftsmen may progress to roles such as Senior Draftsman, Structural Designer, or Project

Coordinator with experience and additional qualifications.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
