**We make real what matters. This is your role**
- The design engineer will be responsible for mechanical design, development and analysis of locomotive and cast resin transformers in Siemens Distribution Transformer network.
- Perform mechanical design and analysis of the tank and externals of locomotive transformers considering expected vibration in operation.
- Use 2D and 3D software to model designs and individual parts to support the generation of engineering drawings and BOM.
- Collaborate with European factories for further product enhancements.
- Effectively communicate among cross functional teams.

**What We Need**

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering preferred

3-5 years working experience as a design engineer (or related roles)

**Technical skills**
- Advanced user of 3D CAD software (eg. CREO/PROe/Inventor/UG), PDM Link/Teamcentre, 2D CAD

(eg. AUTOCAD),
- Familiar with product requirements in IEC 60310 / IEC 60076-11
- Knowledge of calculations and designing transformer tank, stiffeners, cover and external components.
- Thorough knowledge of materials to define and to prepare specification of major items.
- Knowledge of selecting of accessories in locomotive and cast resin transformers.

- Excellent written and verbal communication in English is necessary.
- Self-motivated to produce high quality results within the time allocated, with limited supervision
- Good experience of working with Global Engineering teams in project execution
- Effective co-ordination among manufacturing, suppliers, and customer
- Experience with SAP
