**Staff Nurse (GNM)**
**BACKGROUND**
The Hans Foundation, established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that that works for the improvement of quality of life for underprivileged communities across India through Health, Education, Livelihood and Disability sector interventions. THF undertakes direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing funding support to not-for-profit organizations in India through its donor - RIST, USA. THF’s Strategic planning focuses on key areas of its work with the aim of addressing the key issues of poverty alleviation, economic inequalities, and 360° impact on the quality of life through social development programs. THF’s programs are majorly implemented in the most rural and under-developed areas in the country. Over the years, THF has expanded its charitable activities in collaboration with State and Central Governments, institutions, corporates, academia and non-government organizations for sustainable interventions to achieve scale and economy. The interventions implemented by the foundation range from grass root level to national level programs.

**1. JOB PURPOSE**:
Nurse will be responsible for providing preventive, promotive and curative health care services through Beh Chuhar Clinic in the assigned region. S/he will accompany the clinic and will be responsible for providing patient care services to the community and other field level communication, counseling and health education support to the program. S/he will ensure participation of the community. S/he will maintain records of patient registrations and provide health education using IEC materials.

**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse to join our Ophthalmology Clinic. As a Nurse in this specialized setting, you will play a pivotal role in assisting ophthalmologists and ensuring the efficient operation of the clinic. Your responsibilities will include providing patient care, assisting with ophthalmic procedures, and maintaining medical records. We are looking for a compassionate and detail-oriented individual to deliver exceptional care to our patients.
**Patient Care**:
Conduct preliminary patient assessments, including documenting medical history and vital signs.
Prepare patients for eye examinations, ophthalmic procedures, and surgeries.
Administer prescribed medications and eye drops as directed by the ophthalmologist.
Educate patients on post-operative care and eye health maintenance.
**Assistance in Ophthalmic Procedures**:
- Assist ophthalmologists during eye examinations and any surgical procedures.
- Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments.
- Provide ophthalmic diagnostic testing, such as tonometry and visual acuity measurements.
**Documentation**:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Document patient information, treatment plans, and test results.
- Prepare reports and charts for the ophthalmologist's review.
**Patient Communication**:
- Communicate with patients, ensuring they understand their diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
**Clinic Operations**:
- Ensure the clinic's cleanliness and organization.
- Assist in managing inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment.
- Follow established clinic protocols and procedures.
**Qualifications**:
- Degree in Nursing (RN or LPN) from an accredited nursing program.
- Valid nursing license and relevant certifications.
- Previous experience in ophthalmology or a related field is a plus.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- Compassionate and patient-centered care approach.

**Educational Qualifications**
Bachelor’s degree in nursing /GNM training or a related field with good knowledge in public health or hospitals
**Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioral, Language, Certifications etc.)**
- Experience of working in field/clinic for 1-3 years.
