**Job Purpose**
Acumen is seeking to appoint an ambitious, target-orientated team player to engage with our client (Australian Group of Eight university). The Graduate Employability Officer is responsible for developing programs and relationships, organising events, and providing advice to enhance career opportunities and employment outcomes for final-year students and alumni of the University who are/will be based in India. The role will profile and promote University students and graduates and create strategic linkages to employment opportunities in India by maintaining and developing relationships with relevant business, industry, and government stakeholders. This role will also manage and support initiatives to enhance student experience, alumni engagement and University’s overall brand and reputation in India. This position will primarily be based in Delhi/Mumbai, however, flexibility for frequent domestic travel is required.
**Main Responsibilities**
1. Maximise employment and career development opportunities for final year University students and recent alumni who are and/or will be based in India.
- Deliver events and workshops to students and alumni aimed at enhancing employability skills.
- Effectively manage relationships with stakeholders such as industry, business and partner universities to ensure relevance in the employment market.
- Participate in government and business conferences and other events in India to gather information, maintain relationships, and harness networking opportunities.
- Establish communication channels to provide information to final year students and recent alumni.
- Provide detailed fortnightly written reports on outcomes of activities and as requested.
2. Develop and maintain high performing business contacts in various industries across India
- Identify, approach and secure partnerships with organisations from across industries to promote the skills of our graduates.
- Connect students and graduates to business and industry partners and increase their involvement in career skills workshops, employability programs and career development activities.
- Source internship opportunities for current students, with a focus on Indian nationals, and including through the University Global Mobility internship unit
- Maintain detailed business contact registry of businesses aligned with the University.
3. Contribute to the University’s vision for outstanding international students’ experience.
- Establish a returnee program for final year students to tap into as they return to India.
- Work with students in their final year to prepare them for the job market and manage transition from University to India.
- Engage with students and alumni and gather information on how the University can improve graduate outcomes and experiences.
- Based on informed feedback, develop and implement strategies to design programs that can enhance University experience for students and alumni.
- Encourage students and alumni to engage with the University and local alumni community.
- Partner with International recruitment, Student Life, Alumni, Careers on relevant events and initiatives to improve the student experience.
- Develop, promote and run workshops and tailored programs related to employment for recently returned alumni.
4. Manage events in India for the University as required.
- Organise and support events, workshops, conventions and visits to enhance the University brand and reputation.
- Support branding and recruitment events in India to ensure the University is viewed as a premier destination for local students.
- Enhance the connection between alumni community and the University community through appropriate events and programs.
- Track and report on alumni who access the services of the role.
5. Collect and provide insights on market intelligence and relevant policy changes.
- Monitor regulatory and policy reforms in the education portfolio that may impact the work of the University
