Systems Administrator - Distributed Backup Recovery7

JD:
Deploying, Implementing and Administration of Tivoli Storage Manager v5.5 / 6x / 7x on

Windows and AIX & Linux platforms.
- Configuring & Managing TSM DATABASE, RECOVERY LOG, Policy Management and

Storage pools.
- Library Management and maintaining Scratch volumes.
- Good knowledge on DRM and LANFREE
- Hand on experience SQL and DB2 and TDPSAP cross node restores and refresh activates
- Working experience on Automated Tape Library (IBM 3592, 3584, 3583,).
- Extensive knowledge of hardware and software installation, configuration and maintenance.

Clear understanding about the Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) server's components TSM db,

Log, dbvol, logvol, stgpool, libvolumes, volumehistory, Actlog, dsmserv.opt, query

commands, select commands.
- Concept of migration, reclamation, collocation, backup db, backup stgpool etc.(these are

common back ground processes)
- Manage recovery / restore of backup server software environment as needed.
- Registering a node and managing a node. (Managing a node describes : associating a node

with a schedule, querying the occupancy, filespace and whether the backup schedule was

successful or not., Locking / unlocking the node, reset the password of a node etc.)

Configuring the backup schedules using TSM & trouble shooting the problems related to

backups.
- Establishing connectivity between server and clients.
- Managing IBM 3592 Tape library.
- Monitor, manage and report day-to-day backup and recovery support activities including
- administrative processes and scheduling
- Client schedules, success/missed/failed reporting
- Health check of the servers and Checking Error Reports, if any Recovery Log or Database or

Storage Pool issues, trouble shooting based on the criticality.
- Estimating & Managing TSM DB, Recovery LOG and Storage Pools.
- Configuring SERVER process like Expiration, Storage Pool Migration and Reclamation

of TAPE Storage Pool Volumes.
- Checking administrative schedules like DB BACKUP, BACKUP STG and client schedules;
if any failures working on it based on the priority.
- Registering nodes to the Domain and associating to schedules.
- Designing, configuration, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of TSM Servers
- Knowledge on configuring IBM 3584 library in TSM and mapping drives in TSM server with

drives in client machine for LAN FREE backup.
- Exposure on restoration TSM DB, Upgrade DB based on the company requirements.
- Configuring TDP SQL, TDPO for taking backups and restoration.
- Configuring TSM Server scripts to make the administration easy.
- Knowledge on LAN free and DRM.

Configuring library and library paths; drives and drive paths; device class.
- If any Drive related or Volume related errors, move the data of the volume to destroy the

Volume based on the number of READ/ WRITE errors.
- Audit Library if any mismatch in LIBRARY inventory and TSM inventory.
- AUDIT VOLUME if any inconsistency in VOLUMES DATA, RESTORE VOLUME.
- Maintaining minimum number of scratch volumes
