A commis chef, or junior chef, has many responsibilities, including:

- Food preparation: Measuring, mixing, and preparing ingredients, sauces, and seasonings. Washing, chopping, and cutting meat, fruit, and vegetables.
- Kitchen organization: Keeping the kitchen organized, cleaning stations, and washing and drying equipment.
- Inventory: Assessing inventory and requesting resupply when necessary.
- Food safety: Ensuring proper food hygiene, maintaining food temperatures, and discarding expired food.
- Communication: Communicating with the chef and supervisor.
- Food presentation: Ensuring proper presentation of food as directed by the chef de partie.
- Learning: Learning and improving culinary knowledge.
- Training: Training entry-level kitchen staff.
- Equipment monitoring: Monitoring kitchen equipment and reporting issues to superiors.

Commis chefs work under experienced chefs to learn about kitchen responsibilities. They need to have stamina, the ability to learn on their feet, a passion for food, and versatility.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
