- GFOC Operational Accounting (OA) is responsible to provide outstanding Financial Control support in the areas of Period End Close, Accounting control & assurance and Site Reporting (GRCA reporting/Regulatory Reporting, MI and manual returns). OA is a very important function under the overall umbrella of Financial control. OA ensures that there are adequate controls / checks on the sourcing, preparation and reporting of all outputs to be produced by the FR team.

**The Opportunity**:
This role is in OA sub-function for a region/LOB and all legal entities within that region/LOB. The end to end process will include:

- Perform month end accounting events such as manual journals, which are key to the ledger close, provide robust accounting and business insight into TB analysis, exception management and book closure.
- Perform monthly and quarterly GRCA reporting and manual returns.
- Analyze the results of the process, investigate significant variances compared to previous months resolve any open items.
- Assist in preparation and analysis of management reports for senior stake holders on monthly basis.
- Ensure all processes are correctly and thoroughly documented in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure support is provided per requirements to in-country counterparts
- Ensure integrity and management of data submission
- Adherence to Group policies, audit, controls, and compliance requirements including, but not limited to, declaration of secrecy; data protection act; health, safety and security; clear desk policy. Ensure compliance with HSBC standards & statutory requirements.
Requirements

**What you will need to succeed in the role**:

- Cleared 2 group of CA with articleship training.
- Prior experience in Reporting profiles is a must and exposure in month end close will be preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Site Reporting at Financial Institutions will be a must.
- Excellent communication skills, including experience of explaining complex technical matters simply
