Assessing a patient’s condition and planning and implementing patient care plans

Maintenance of nursing records including nurse’s flow sheet, charts, consents, and initial assessment data for all assigned patients as per protocols.

Maintains continuity of care through clear and concise verbal and written communication with all departments, internal and external customers

Reception and orientation of newly admitted patients assigned to him/her.

Responding to life-saving situations and providing advanced life support

Assessing physicians in performing procedures

Recording of vital signs, i.e. temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure.

Performing gastric lavage, giving enema etc

Ensure that Ventilators, monitors and other types of medical equipment function properly

Maintains case papers, investigation reports etc. and maintains vital signs charts, intake-output charts and other special charts if necessary.

Indent and procurements of all the necessary equipment, drugs, O2 cylinder, which are required for the units.

Participate in Training programs, Committee meatings, Surveys, Audits etc.

Implementation of requirements of NABH standards

Active participation in Emergency Preparedness, Mock drills

Active participation in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety programs

Discharge responsibilities assigned by Top Management from time to time.
