- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- First level diagnostics, i.e. Diagnose defects against components using techniques and tools defined in the Test Strategy and will pinpoint defects against the correct component in multi-component journeys.
- The role works under the direction of a test manager but will have autonomous control of their responsibilities.
- Responsible for the testing quality via interpretation of the design documentation to establish the design script and for completing the testing in their remit to agreed timescales Develop test data strategy, Data analysis and preparation
- Fully conversant with test management, diagnostics and have knowledge of automation or another specialism.
- Performs tasks on stable and existing legacy solutions, and undertakes same role on new functionality with more supervision.
- Write test specifications and test designs (scripts) and running the test scripts to time cost and quality
- Deliver the testing requirements for a specific area deriving what needs to be tested.
- Undertake test automation in line with prevailing automation strategy
- Identify blockers to completion and to progress resolution of them
- Raising project exceptions re issues and blockers that threaten project timelines.
- Reduce ongoing occurrences of defects in production environments.
- Managing own time to perform tasks within timeframe or before a given deadline
- Executing test procedures and recording complex test results.
- Will drive implementation of unit test strategy through their area of responsibility.
- Identifying test issues/ defects and recording in testing tool.
- Provide feedback on proposed test activities
- Performing testing tasks as specified by the Test Lead/ Test Manager.
- Executing test procedures and recording test results unsupervised
- Conducting peer reviews
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement test evaluation framework.
- To decide the approach to be taken and the nature of the liaison with the development and support teams.
- Lead and support associate level testers in terms of matrix management or coaching
- SKILLS- Provide detailed information on any qualifications, technical expertise or security clearance that you will need for the job. (See example statements below).
- Story-telling with data: strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences
- Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)
- Member of a professional body e.g. Institution of Engineering and Technology
- EXPERIENCE- Experience in Software testing with rich knowledge on Software quality, quality assurance, defect prevention and driving test execution.
- Expeirence in telecom domain with rick knowledge on Cu, fibre and ethernet products
- Expereince in digital transformation in qa space
