Ignator Science Teacher

**Role - Ignator (Science Teacher)**

**Responsibilities**:
1) To spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and instill confidence and caring among school students.

2) Be energetic and enthusiastic in every session and pass the same energy to students.

3) To conduct sessions in line with Agastya’s pedagogy, which is hands-on, allowing children to explore and ask questions.

4) Be well-versed with models/concepts of his/her department and also know maintenance and minor repairs of models.

5) To facilitate students' learning, either individually or in groups.

6) Ensure that students understand the concepts thoroughly rather than just completing the concept/model.

7) To learn, keeping all reports and documents updated.

8) Maintain a cordial relationship with teachers and school heads who accompany students during visits.

9) Be a team player and strive to exceed the given program deliverables (refer to the last page) and non-negotiables.

**B.**

1) Ignator should conduct two hands-on sessions every day:
a. Be prepared with lesson plans and required materials/models, and engage children according to Agastya's pedagogy.

b. Summarize the learning after the end of each session and leave students with curious pointers to explore themselves.

2) Keep individual daily records updated either through the instructor app.

3) The ignatorr should engage in:
a. Researching answers to questions posed by children/teachers.

b. Staying updated on current science news and exploring interesting pedagogical approaches (such as innovative ways to arrange children or engaging role-play activities).

c. Identifying new charts to display or new ways of arranging the classroom to improve the look and feel of the science center.

d. Creating two innovative low-cost models monthly and facilitating student participation in Agastya Internal (Jignyasa, Anveshana, Innovation Express) and external competitions (IRIS, Urja Mela, and others).

4) Generate a list of requirements fortnightly and keep it available for sessions by consulting the Area Lead for purchase. Also, keep inventory and stock updated.

5) Plan and deliver effective summer/winter plans according to SOPs/special guidelines given.

6) Conduct Phygital activities by enabling drivers/volunteers/school teachers/Young Instructor Leaders.

7) Encourage and create opportunities for children to engage more in questioning in classrooms.

8) Be part of the quality assurance process and develop the required skills to exceed given expectations.

9) Conduct Science / Innovation / Tech / YIL fairs, teacher training, and community visits as per expectations (refer deliverable sheets).

10) Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all workplaces (Science Center, Mobile Science Lab), aim for cost reduction, and efficient management of inventory.

11) Actively visit (Twice a month) and engage students from OV centers through your program (typically 2 OV's per Mobile Science Lab).

12) Complete the Impact Assessment process in time for your program according to IA team

guidelines, and ensure to send 7 writable case stories from each program.

13) Adhere to Agastya policies such as POSH & POCSO and others.

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
