SCM Executive Job Description for a Pharmaceutical Company

**Job Title**: Supply Chain Management (SCM) Executive

**Position Overview**: The Supply Chain Management (SCM) Executive is responsible for managing and overseeing the smooth and efficient flow of goods, materials, and information across the pharmaceutical company's supply chain. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, manufacturers, logistics partners, and internal teams to ensure the timely delivery of pharmaceutical products in compliance with industry regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- **Inventory Management**:

- Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure an optimal balance between supply and demand.
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging components, and finished goods.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement inventory control systems to minimize stockouts, overstock, and wastage.
- **Procurement & Supplier Management**:

- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the availability of raw materials and components for production.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, and delivery timelines, and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and ensure compliance with agreed-upon service levels.
- Ensure the quality of supplies complies with regulatory standards and internal requirements.
- **Logistics & Distribution**:

- Coordinate the efficient transportation of raw materials and finished goods to and from manufacturing plants, warehouses, and distribution centers.
- Oversee third-party logistics (3PL) providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Monitor delivery performance and address any issues related to delays, quality, or compliance.
- Track and manage shipping schedules, import/export documentation, and transportation costs.
- **Regulatory Compliance & Documentation**:

- Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Maintain accurate records of procurement, inventory, shipments, and other supply chain activities to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation of import/export documentation, including customs clearance processes, to ensure timely and lawful delivery.
- **Demand Forecasting & Planning**:

- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to forecast demand and align supply chain activities accordingly.
- Develop and implement demand planning strategies to ensure the availability of products while minimizing excess inventory.
- Monitor product lifecycle and anticipate any supply chain risks related to product discontinuation or new product launches.
- **Process Improvement**:

- Continuously review and optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Identify and implement best practices in inventory management, procurement, and logistics.
- Work with other departments to improve lead times, reduce waste, and increase overall supply chain performance.
- **Problem Resolution**:

- Identify potential supply chain disruptions (e.g., delays, stockouts, quality issues) and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with relevant departments (Quality Control, Manufacturing, etc.) to resolve issues swiftly and minimize any impact on production or delivery schedules.
- Ensure effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders during problem resolution.

Qualifications:

- **Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Logistics, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus.
- **Experience**:

- 1-4 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or operations, ideally within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical supply chain regulations and industry standards is highly desirable.
- Experience with inventory management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and demand forecasting tools is a plus.
- **Skills & Abilities**:

- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Good understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, and logistics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
