**Job Description
Experience: 3-5Years
- Experience developing Performance Standards, Creating master sections and Surface feasibility proposal for PDO
- NX and Teamcenter knowledge
- Automotive Interior Product Design components/systems design/development/releasing experience
- Experience with Tooling feasibility in Injection molded plastics/Decorative components
- **Knowledge of Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R), FEA, Mold Flow Virtual Validation, GD&T, and i-Speed**:

- Knowledge of radio head unit software and hardware architectures and corresponding vehicle system architecture
- Strong technical knowledge of plastic design and system interfaces & mechanism, moving components interfaces.
- Strong technical knowledge of plastic components and metal structures design and seat system interfaces.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanism, latches and moving components interfaces.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of Powertrain / Engine / Transmission operation and components. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Some travel required to Supplier and Corporate Engine/Transmission / Vehicle Assembly Plants - including Canada & Mexico.
- Green/black belt in Shainin or DFSS desirable.
- Hands-on involvement in the repair/modification of a vehicle, home or other technically complex project
- Working knowledge of Casting and Injection Molding processes.
- Knowledge of FCA Systems and/or products a plus
- Working level knowledge of DVPAR and DFVEA.
- Interface with cross functional team to design and develop functional solutions that achieve design requirements & to ensure proper design interfaces with other components, and all requirements are met.
- Work with other functions Design / Releasing teams to ensure consistency in requirements, standards, and practices across programs.
- Support Benchmarking of competitive vehicles.
- Maintain core Engineering Design Practices (EDP's)
- Own and update Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA), Design Verification Plan & Report (DVPR), and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) - ensure functional objectives, guidelines and corporate requirements are met
- Manage Tier I suppliers and software releases and/or hardware designs to meet program timing and deliverables..
- Interface with stakeholders at all levels including vehicle teams, HMI, validation, requirement leads, technical specialists, leadership, and develop robust functional designs.
- Present action plans with status/risks to get and keep programs on track.
- Maintain changes and budget to achieve deliverables for a sound product launches.
- Follow, track and root cause build issues found during pre-production builds, prior to launch of the program and warranty analysis of all the components after the launch.
- Concept Design and feasibility studies
- Support resolution & design updates of vehicle packaging, logbook and manufacturing feasibility issues
- **Conduct Computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling (Catia / NX) and template set-up & maintenance using Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques.**:

- Early Computer Aided Design (CAD) creation and development prior to supplier award & onboarding
- Generate CAD and 2D drawings for components including GD&T
- Develop and release BDU and related component designs that satisfy vehicle level
- Provide program deliverables on time per major development milestones
- Lead and coordinate Product Development Tea (POT) meetings with suppliers
- Execute standardization plans and reuse of validated subcomponents
- Track current production warranty and assist in foot cause investigations
- Execute programs through POP that meet or exceed objectives or performance, cost, weight, investment, and quality
- Author and submit source packages on time to support product plans
- Pull and manage part numbers
- Execute design for manufacturing process and coordinate assembly process with manufacturing engineering
- Develop and execute system integration Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
- Develop system level validation plans, end of line test, and continuous conformance test requirements and coordinate with Tier 1 supplier
- responsible for the creation and maintenance of documentation outlining best practices supporting internal continuous improvement initiatives and the development of product technology roadmaps
- Lead initial root cause analysis and support through closure
- Lead Design and Release Engineers (DRE-s) in meeting program objectives for their components with respect to cost, weight, performance, quality, manufacturing, timing, etc.
