Introduction:
You will be part of a great team that is looking to recruit team members that can bring enthusiasm, skills, and ideas.
This role provides exposure to leading edge software technology and underlying platforms within middleware, operating mission critical services to the group.

What will you be doing?

Infrastructure Engineering (30 - 50%)
- Assist with the planning and implementation of changes to the components of test and live messaging infrastructure, from request for change or project initiation through to deployment and review, to support the continued availability, effectiveness and risk compliance of the infrastructure.
- Contribute to technical solutions.
- Assist with the design and implementation of monitoring solutions.

Infrastructure Maintenance (10 - 30%)
- Work within the team to maintain or enhance systems / infrastructure components and services.

Service Support (10 - 20%)
- React quickly and as necessary to test and live systems issues and service problems to minimize downtime and restore service. Key focus will be required upon identification of root cause and implementation of permanent fix.

What we’re looking for:
The Middleware teams provide support and change delivery across a range of platforms & components.
- Articulate and persuasive communicator with excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to present concepts to a wide range of audiences, in order to influence and educate stakeholders using graphics and analogies where appropriate to simplify
- UNIX and Linux familiarity with some Shell scripting skills and basic administrative skills
- Knowledge of automation technologies i.e. CHEF
- Knowledge of a range of infrastructure principles and offerings i.e. Cloud
- Knowledge in Ruby or Phyton.

Skills that will help you in the role:

- Knowledge/Administration skills for MQ, Kafka and AMQ
- Good Knowledge in HA Design Patterns/ Frameworks is value added.
- Experience in any development language
- Knowledge of IIB/ACE development, Toolkit, ESQL Coding
- Any cloud or container-based qualifications or experience, or has shown a real passion for the technology and / or proven experience in working within a technology environment
