**Job Summary**:
**Responsibilities**
- **Typesetting and Formatting**: Accurately import, format, style, and paginate text, ensuring consistency in fonts, spacing, headings, body text, and other typographical elements according to our house style guide and industry best practices.
- **Image and Table Integration**: Professionally integrate images, tables, graphs, and other visual elements into the text, ensuring optimal placement, resolution, and proper captioning.
- **Proofing and Quality Control**:Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and correct any layout, formatting, or typographical errors before final publication. This includes checking for widows, orphans, rivers, and other common typesetting issues.
- **File Generation**:Prepare and deliver print-ready PDF files that adhere to industry standards.
- **Collaboration**:Work effectively with authors, editors, and the production team to implement revisions and ensure all design specifications and deadlines are met.

**Requirements**:

- **Experience**:Proven experience (2+ years) as a book typesetter or similar role within a publishing environment.
- **Software Expertise**: Advanced proficiency in professional typesetting and layout software, especially Adobe InDesign. Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator is a plus for basic image adjustments.
- **Typographical Knowledge**:Strong understanding of typography, grid systems, leading, kerning, tracking, and other design principles essential for book readability and aesthetics.
- **Attention to Detail**: Exceptional attention to detail and a keen eye for consistency, accuracy, and aesthetic appeal.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex formatting issues efficiently.
- **Communication**: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take constructive feedback and collaborate effectively.
- **Location**: Must be able to commute to our office in Malviya Nagar, New Delhi.
