**Job Summary**:
**Key Responsibilities:Library Management**:

- Organize, catalogue, and maintain a comprehensive collection of books, periodicals, and digital resources.
- Classify and shelve materials using appropriate systems (Dewey Decimal System or equivalent).
- Maintain records of issued/returned books and overdue notices.
- Ensure regular inventory checks and maintenance of library stock.

**Student and Staff Engagement**:

- Guide students in selecting age-appropriate reading material.
- Conduct orientation sessions for new students on library use and rules.
- Promote reading habits through reading challenges, book clubs, and storytelling sessions.
- Support teachers with research materials, reference books, and academic resources.

**Digital and Research Skills**:

- Manage digital library resources and databases.
- Assist students in developing research and information literacy skills.
- Stay updated with latest trends in library science and educational resources.

**Administrative Duties**:

- Coordinate with vendors for procurement of new books and subscriptions.
- Prepare budget proposals for library resources and equipment.
- Maintain a quiet, organized, and welcoming reading environment.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Library Science (B.Lib / M.Lib) from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2-5 years of experience as a librarian in a school environment preferred.
- Strong organizational and cataloguing skills.
- Proficiency in using library management software and digital tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passionate about books, reading, and working with children.
