**Responsibilities**:

- Code and abstract medical records accurately for OB-GYN services including but not limited to prenatal care, deliveries, postpartum care, gynecological procedures, and surgeries.
- Review documentation to ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations.
- Assign appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes to diagnoses, procedures, and services performed by OB-GYN providers.
- Conduct thorough audits and quality assessments to ensure accuracy and completeness of coding.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and other staff to resolve coding-related issues and discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes in coding regulations, guidelines, and industry trends related to OB-GYN and pathology lab testing.
- Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify documentation and coding queries.
- Provide training and education to staff on coding best practices and compliance requirements.
- Assist with the development and implementation of coding policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or related field preferred.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential required.
- Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in OB-GYN coding in a clinical setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and disease processes related to OB-GYN services.
- Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems.
- Experience in coding pathology lab testing services related to OB-GYN procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software preferred.
