**MongoDB Database Lead**

Database Lead for multiple enterprise markets, hosting highly transactional and mission-critical databases for a global insurance provider. A team consists of a 9 offshore DBA’s to provide 24x7 support. The expectation is that this role provides technical guidance, direction, hands-on expertise, and experience in maintenance, migration & upgrades of servers. Coverage will be 9-5 EST M-F, with on-call support as required. Client collaboration is an integral component of this role.

**Work Experience**
- Minimum 6+ years with Mongodb 2.4/2.6/3.0/3.6/4.0/4.2/4.4
- Experience supporting multiple production, perf, test and development servers
- Good Transact SQL skills - ability to write and tune JSON queries
- Experience with large databases (> 700 GB)
- Experience in setting up replica sets.
- Experience in setting up and handling sharding.
- Experience with trouble shooting and optimizing JSON / BSON queries.
- Experience in new installation, upgrade, configuration of Mongodb 2.4/2.6/3.0/3.6/4.0/4.2/4.4.
- Experience with Mongodb tools such as Robo3T, Compass, Execution plan.
- Experience from Mongodb community to percona Mongo upgradation and vice versa.
- Experience in handling Oplogs backups, Troubleshooting long running JSON queries.
- Experience with supporting mongodb BI connectors to convert data from NoSQL / RDMBS technologies.
- Experience with Troubleshooting and configuring backups, LDAP integration.
- Experience with database environment refresh.
- Experience with databse design and optimization to handle large volume of data
- Experience in Mongatlas, Ops Manager usage for backups / upgrade.
- Experience in handling permissions, LDAP integrity security.
- Experience in collection level refresh with in same or different servers.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensures availability, security, integrity, and performance of databases.
- Recommends and implements data models and database designs that support efficient data access.
- Exercises critical thinking and problem-solving when resolving database performance, capacity, replication, and other data issues.
- Install and configure database management software and applicable options, packs and patches while adhering industry standards.
- Develop and implement database deliverables, such as conceptual designs, logical designs, capacity planning, external data interface specifications, data loading plans, data maintenance plans, and security policies.
- Participates in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Follow industry best practices and standards in all database areas.
- Document runbook and SOP’s as required.
- Participate in the Incident and Problem management bridge calls as required.
- Clear and effective Communication skills both verbal and written.
- ** Technical and Professional Knowledge**: Demonstrate a satisfactory level of technical and professional skill or knowledge in position-related areas; remains current with developments and trends in areas of expertise.

- ** Client Focus**: Make internal and external clients and their needs a primary focus of actions; develop and sustain productive client relationships.

We need a strong DBA here, who can wear many hats as needed and drive outcomes. Rigid mindsets, poor cultural fit, or language difficulties will be blockers for acceptance
