**Roles and Responsibilities**

**Data Architect**

Responsible for visualizing and designing an organization’s enterprisedata management framework describing the processes used to plan, specify, enable, create, acquire, maintain, use, archive, retrieve, control, and purge data.

Translate business requirements into technical specifications, such as data streams of master data, Operational Data, Historical data, data transformations, databases, and data warehouses across established data management and reporting technologies, and on emerging data management technologies such as columnar, NoSQL databases, predictive analytics, data visualization, and unstructured data

Define potential architecture options, and realize proof of concept as required

Define the data architecture framework, standards, and principles, including modeling, metadata, security, reference data such as product codes and client categories, and master data such as clients, vendors, materials, and employees

Define reference architecture for the DoP, to consistency and improved data systems

Define data flows, Data Life Cycle which business process generate interact and manipulate data, how data flows are managed, and how data changes in transition

Review strategy, execution, and validation aspects of Data Migration

Lead data architects and data engineers to architect and deliver the solutions that fulfill the Business information needs and align with the information vision and strategy

Engage an end-to-end approach by connecting all the pieces of data to deliver the data while leveraging all available assets

Be an active contributor to how the DoP evolves Data Governance practices and influence the adoption of data standards. Develop key performance measures for data integration and data quality

Support third party data suppliers in developing specifications that are congruent with the Enterprise data architecture

Build and maintain appropriate Enterprise Architecture artefacts including Entity Relationship Models, Data dictionary, taxonomy to aid data traceability

Provide technical oversight to Application/Solution Architects in creating business driven solutions adhering to the enterprise architecture and data governance standards

Be an advocate of data security principles and ensure appropriate security practices are embedded in any data strategy

Be an active contributor to how DoP evolves Data Governance practices and influence the adoption of data standards

Helps in planning and strategizing the Enterprise Data architecture to be in line with the mission, vision, and long-term strategy of DoP.

Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or related field.

Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent

Certified Big Data Architect or equivalent

IBM Certified Data Architect - Big Data or equivalent

TOGAF certification preferred

5 years of Data architecture design work experience.

Minimum of 10 years of database development and support skill such as Logical Data Modeling, Physical data modeling, DDL, DML, Database Tuning with Proven Hands-on experience on different types of database management systems

Experience of implementing data structures for Microservice pattern and API protocols that uses Containers and understanding of object-oriented design.

Experience of working in Agile & Waterfall SDLC, Experience with relevant development tools, Technologies & Process

Understand the system development life cycle, project management approaches, and requirements, design, and database test techniques.

SQL development and database administration.

Experience with two or more vendors in any of the following areas including SQL Server, Oracle 11g, DB2, MySQL, SQL Data Warehouse Appliance, Oracle Exadata, Netezza, Greenplum, Vertica, Teradata, Aster Data, SAP HANA, Hadoop, SAS, SPSS, Spotfire, Tableau, Qlikview, R, Oracle Endeca, Oracle OBIEE, SAP Business Objects, SAS, and other Analytics Vendors with BI components

Experience of requirement analysis

Knowledge in data security, data privacy
