Role Summary

**Responsibilities**:
The major duties, tasks, and responsibilities are below:

- Deploying high standards of commercial acumen in project management, which maximises revenue and margin from project portfolios.
- Ensuring best practice project administration is deployed which delivers close project control and accurate project forecasting.
- Supporting the optimisation of resource planning to deliver project commitments and engineering utilisation.
- Leading the Project Controls function to align with;
- Schedule Management
- Cost Management
- Change Management, and
- Risk and Opportunity Management
- Set the standards and working methods for the planning function across an entire project. Establish & maintain an effective Project Programme.
- Lead or contribute to the planning strategy for assigned projects, so that the approach taken in each case is effective and appropriate to the project needs and client requirements including setting standards and procedures, monitors and reports at project/portfolio level
- Monitor project risks, issues, resources and CPM and assist in providing solutions to Project Controls Manager and the Resident Engineer, complying with WSP and the Client’s standards and codes.
- Proactively identify and highlight any progress issues which threaten successful delivery of the project, so that recovery action may be taken including any claims
- Lead planning input to estimating and tendering activity on assigned projects, so that all relevant issues, actions and risks are understood and taken into account.
- Provide support to management for all planning functions ensuring that issues within the programme are highlighted and understood.
- Give appropriate planning advice and direction to project staff, subconsultanrs, contractors, and clients.
- Facilitate effective planning of the works within the project team
- Deliver Period Programme Updates and input to project reports.
- Deliver information regarding changes and delays that have impacted the programme on a period by period basis.
- Deliver necessary reports, to allow PMs/PDs to direct the project appropriately.
- Timely response to the submission of project programmes, ensuring the provision of the programmes to the standards required by the contract, via the appropriate communication channels
- Ensuring all company safety, quality, environmental, commercial and project management procedures are followed as relevant to tasks undertaken, and especially in ensuring that the Highways Contractors Assurance Case is not compromised.
- Responsible for seeking and securing work from new or existing clients, and identifying further opportunities for the India PM&C team
- As appropriate, work in a bidding team (as a member or leader) to do all the activities necessary to submit the bidding documentations in time.
- Effective communication and reporting at all levels in the team
- Any other iCRC Highways team related assignment as entrusted by Line Manager/HOD.
- Lead a performance culture, incorporating the WSP values, which develops individuals’ capability through an active performance management process, so that not only delivery for the company is enhanced but also the skills, capability and personal satisfaction of an individual is maximised.

Key Competencies / Skills:
Mandatory Skills
- Experience in a consultancy environment with good customer relationship and stakeholder management skills.
- Demonstrable capability in Project Controls, and proven skills in the use of Primavera / Microsoft / other planning products (e.g. Primavera Project Management, Primavera Risk Analysis, Microsoft Project, ).
- Advanced knowledge of the philosophies, principals, practices & techniques of planning.
- Understand and has utilised Critical Path Analysis, Earned Value Techniques, and “Extension of Time” analysis techniques
- Advance level expertise in using MS Excel/ Word for developing tools and dashboards for internal and external stakeholder communications.
- Preferred: Experience in the use of the Network Highways IMS planning database and PEND/PEST processes (or similar client systems / processes) would be an advantage.
- Preferred: Exposure to UK Highways Industry and work experience in Highways projects / site experience
- Preferred: Client or project delivery (design or construction) Highways, Metro or Transport experience an advantage.
