We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of **SVP - Traded Risk**

**Principal responsibilities***

**Impact on the Business**:

- Provide functional leadership to the traded risk stewardship aspects primarily in FRTB-IMA space
- Involvement in other regulatory programs based on priority.
- Collaborate with multiple and different kinds of stakeholders to achieve the goals and priorities for Traded Risk function.

**Customers / Stakeholders**:

- The role entails liasing with Group and Regional stakeholders in GRA space covering
- Global Co-Heads of Traded Risk
- Global Asset Class Heads (GACH) and desk level Market Risk Managers
- Global Head of Market Risk Aggregation and Capital
- FRTB Project Leads in Traded Risk function and MSS
- Head of Risk Analytics and Traded Risk India CoE
- Update above stakeholders through strategic communication on resource planning & key project progress. Highlight and escalate challenges on time and suggest solutions to mitigate issues.
- Showcase & highlight the India CoE capability to stakeholders, uplift team profile and enhance the quality work whereby delivering key business goals.
- Navigate matrix organization to influence key decision-making process and solve complex functional / people challenges.

**Leadership & Teamwork**:

- Maintain strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders including Group and regions depending on the priority. Promote collaboration with Group and Regional teams to achieve business objectives.
- Create functional capability within the team to develop multiple SMEs who are capable to drive projects and work as partners to onshore stakeholders.
- Drive meritocracy in such a diverse team with multiple functions. Explore opportunities to create various functional opportunities and career pathing for the team.
- Provide appropriate functional/technical/soft-skill training to the wider team to further enhance the capability and develop thought leadership acumen.
- Manage and monitor all administrative activities associated with the role.
- Work with various supporting functions including HR, MCM, Compliance teams to address various operational issues on a timely manner and update the management, as appropriate.
- Manage external vendor resources (if applicable) as per requirement.

**Role Dimensions**:

- Dealing with a globally diverse stakeholder matrix
- Building a deep connect with desk level key people across trading hubs.
- Connecting with overall traded risk priorities and changes in markets business
- Remain connected with HSBC Global Risk developments, strategy and be aware of external regulatory environment.
Requirements
- At least a post-graduate degree (MBA, MS in Finance / other quantitative fields) with considerable experience (overall experience being 15+ years) in financial markets, risk management in the trading book space.
- Exposure to quantitative models, traded risk capital management (market risk and counterparty credit risk) and regulatory landscape.
- Good knowledge of vanilla and complex derivative markets products and relevant traded markets. Decent understanding of other areas e.g. Credit, Finance, Accounting, Operational, Legal, etc.
- Excellent understanding of trading book, FRTB regulations and Traded Risk IT infrastructure
- Excellent understanding of risk management and mitigation and control techniques
- Working and navigating across all levels of the organization to understand cross-functional linkages and interdependencies, as well as the implications of risk at both a strategic level and at the business unit level.
- Network across HSBC Group & the Banking industry.
- Proven ability of creating and leading a sizeable team and of effecting strategic change and redirection of activities
- Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the most senior level in the organization.
- Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business.
- Strong leadership and management ability, leading through change and understand and interpret complex business requirements.
- Proven ability to prioritize competing demands.
- Demonstrated ability to assess Risk trends, both internally and externally
- Developing and retaining critical talent and building an effective leadership team
