IT System Administrator

The System Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the hospital's IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, supporting hospital staff, and implementing technologies that enhance operational efficiency and patient care.
**Key Responsibilities:1. IT Infrastructure Management**:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and other IT infrastructure components.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high levels of availability and reliability.
- Manage and maintain electronic health record (EHR) systems and hospital management software.
**2. Network Administration**:
- Oversee the hospital's LAN, WAN, and Wi-Fi networks to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Implement network security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Troubleshoot network issues and resolve connectivity problems.
**3. Data Security and Backup**:
- Implement and enforce data security protocols to protect patient and hospital information.
- Perform regular data backups and recovery tests to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Monitor systems for potential security breaches and respond to cybersecurity threats.
**4. Technical Support**:
- Provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to hospital staff for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and access levels.
- Train staff on new technologies, systems, and best practices.
**5. Software and Application Management**:
- Manage the installation and updates of hospital software, including clinical and administrative systems.
- Ensure compatibility between software systems and hardware.
**6. Compliance and Documentation**:
- Ensure all IT systems comply with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, or other applicable standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and configurations.
- Prepare reports on system performance, incidents, and upgrades for management review.
**7. Continuous Improvement**:
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance hospital operations and patient care.
- Plan and execute system upgrades and infrastructure improvements with mínimal disruption to operations.
- Participate in IT-related hospital committees or strategic planning discussions.
**Qualifications:Education and Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role in a healthcare environment (preferred).
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or CCNA are a plus.
**Skills and Competencies**:
- Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux servers, virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud platforms.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and security practices.
- Experience with healthcare IT systems, including EHR/EMR platforms.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**:
- Uptime percentage of hospital IT systems and networks.
- Resolution time for IT support tickets.
- Number of security incidents detected and mitigated.
- User satisfaction with IT support services.
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
