
Rebar Estimator

The Estimator has to analyze the designed drawings and estimate the rebar in all concrete elements and accessories in accordance with the plans, specifications and calculates rebar tonnage construction projects. Estimator has to prepare timely estimates of the quantities of reinforced bars, mesh, accessories and related products required for bidding projects and also maintain an on-going bid calendar, including tracking for addenda and updates, to ensure accurate estimation.
Minimum Qualification for a Rebar Estimator
- A Rebar Estimator must qualify minimum of Diploma Degree or Bachelor's Degree in the discipline of Civil.
- A Rebar Estimator must possess minimum 1 Year of work experience in Rebar Estimator.
Skills Required for a Rebar Estimator
- Ethical Conduct
- Computer aided design (Auto CAD/Rebar CAD)
- Should have RCC Estimation experience in US/UK projects
- Able to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Able to function in a team-oriented environment
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Good mathematical and problem-solving skills
- Anticipates problems and develops contingency
- Quality and timely decision making
- Knowledge in 3D Software is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities of Rebar Estimator
- Sound knowledge of engineering principles and basic technical responsibilities within the Civil Engineering discipline.
- Good practical & domain knowledge of Rebar Estimation per industry codes, standards and criteria.
- Demonstrated experience in generating, revising, organizing and coordinating construction project drawings while working as a team member in multiple projects.
- Must be able to work independently in preparing professional error free estimation.
- Must communicate effectively and professionally with clients regarding all the aspects.
- Required to read structural and architectural drawings, addenda, specifications and revisions in order to provide complete quantity of reinforcing required for tendering purposes.
- Required to review take-offs, calculation sheets and estimates for accuracy, specifications, critical dimensions, substitutions and specification requirements.
- Required to evaluate cost implications of material fabrication and installation, delivery and hoisting requirements, and scheduling requirements.
