Introduction

The key objective of this role is to support and operate database cloud services for Oracle’s industry customers. This is an outstanding and unique opportunity for an experienced Oracle DBA to join Oracle’s industry-leading Cloud Foundation Services (CFS) global organization and take your career to the next level. In this role you will gain new skills and experience by training on and working with the latest and most advanced cloud and database technologies. In addition, you will gain new skills and perspectives by practicing DevOps within Oracle.

Role Details
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Database Administrator to work for Oracle’s Cloud Foundation Services (CFS) group. Responsibilities include:

- Provide escalation support for database related issues as a member of a Global team
- Alert and diagnostic monitoring of our Cloud Services
- Work closely with Product Development teams and provide feedback to improve product quality
- Develop administration automation and monitoring scripts as needed
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/documentation
- Share knowledge with team members as needed
- Attend weekly team meetings and participate in team building activities
- Other duties, as assigned

There is a requirement for flexibility of hours to support varying business requirements. Start and end times will vary depending on business need. We will consult with you should the need arise to change your work pattern. In addition to weekdays and weekend shifts, you may also be required to perform overtime and an occasional Public Holiday, on a rotational basis. Appropriate compensation is provided for this work.

Preferred Qualifications
To be successful at the role you will need to have, and be able to demonstrate, up to date experience in the following areas:

- Experience with Oracle database 12c, 18c, 19c multitenant database, RAC, ASM, Data Guard, Golden Gate, and performance tuning with Enterprise Manager for monitoring and administering mission critical databases.
- 4+ years of experience supporting relational databases as a DBA, with a focus in Oracle and related tools.
- Experience in Shell script, Perl, or Python. Experience with Ansible is a plus as is Linux system administration
- Experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Azure, AWS, or GCP is preferred. OCI certifications are an advantage.
- Experience of working within an organization with a key 24x7 reliance on its databases.
- Experience in working in an environment with established Incident, Change and Problem Management processes.
- Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development
- Must be a motivated, team-player with the ability to work cross functionally with a “can-do” and “do-it-right” attitude, a self-starter, and constantly thinking of ways to improve the work.
- Keen on software development and technology in general, proactively keeps up to date on the latest and greatest trends and is keen to share and train team members on upcoming technology developments
