Middleware Architect

**YOUR ROLE**:
**Architecture & Strategy**
- Define and maintain the conceptual, logical, and physical architecture of middleware platforms.
- Lead the selection, deployment, and evolution of enterprise service bus (ESB) and integration technologies.
- Develop integration strategies for on-premise, cloud (SaaS), and hybrid environments.
- Guide the adoption of APIs and microservices across the enterprise.

**Platform Ownership**
- Own and oversee middleware platforms including IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), Sterling B2B Gateway, Secure File Gateway (SFG), Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP), and IBM API Connect (APIC).
- Evaluate and implement new technologies such as SAP BTP Integration Suite.
- Assess and optimize performance metrics to prevent bottlenecks and ensure high availability.
- Monitor and support middleware systems, assess operational risks, and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Experience supporting integration operations, including incident management and service request handling.
- Provide break-fix analysis and resolution for integration-related issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

**Project Leadership**
- Provide architectural guidance for major projects to ensure alignment with enterprise integration standards.
- Participate in architecture reviews and ensure compliance with integration framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze business and technical requirements for integration solutions.
- Support the implementation of monitoring and analytics tools to enhance visibility and reliability.
- Act as a communication broker—translating business needs into technical integration designs and explaining technical issues in business terms.
- Support user acceptance testing and secure user sign-off before go-live of new systems or changes.

**Innovation & Evaluation**
- Explore and assess iPaaS solutions for future SaaS-to-SaaS integration needs.
- Promote the use of APIs and microservices to modernize integration landscape.
- Periodically review disaster recovery and failover procedures for middleware platforms.

**Collaboration & Enablement**
Work closely with internal teams, external vendors, and service providers to ensure effective integration delivery.
- Educate supplier resources on integration technologies and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.
- Coordinate with external service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of integration solutions.

**YOUR BACKGROUND**
**Basic Qualifications**:

- 5+ years of experience as an integration architect or designer in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of middleware platforms (IBM ACE, SFG, APIC), integration principles, and SOA.
- Strong understanding of integration principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with SAP BTP integration technologies (CPI) and API management tools.
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and cloud integration platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with performance monitoring and optimization tools (e.g., IBM APM).
- Exposure to Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Automotive industry experience is a plus.
