Ecad Librarian

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Title: eCAD Librarian**
**Location: India**

Primary responsibility will be to create and maintain an XTG company-wide database of schematic symbols and footprint libraries to be used for all layout projects. Through daily collaboration with internal design teams, you will design a library of schematic symbols, footprints, and 3D models, validate library parts for accuracy and compliance with company standards, and provide user support of the tools and processes.
We are looking for someone who has experience with parts library components and has an opinion on how a library should be set up, used, and maintained. This role will consist of creating process definition, training our design teams, setting up the initial library, as well as maintaining the library. Multi-CAD experience is also a plus.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Take ownership of and maintain symbol, footprint and component libraries.
- Work closely with Design, Mechanical, Component, and Process Engineers to create schematic symbols and PCB component footprints.
- Publish library parts to the global eCAD library within established standards for use by all Design Engineers with XTG Design Services companies.
- Process CAD Library requests for new parts and analyze/modify existing library parts for improved readability of the schematic or manufacturability of the component footprint.
- Verify and validate schematic symbols and physical footprints for parts created by other librarians for accuracy and compliance with our standards.
- Participate in the usability, testing, and validation of the library change control system and process as well as assisting with user support of related tools/processes.
- Teach and mentor others in proper part entry, organization, and software use.
- Review symbols, footprints and components created by other engineers against our internal standards.
- Help support an eventual transition to database libraries, and expand our library operations to support OrCad, Allegro, Altium and Cadence.

**SKILLS & CERTIFICATIONS**
- Understanding of how a wide range electronic components function is required.
- Ability to read and interpret datasheets for electronic components is required.
- System level PCB design experience through work experience preferred.
- Ability to read design schematics and lay-outs preferred.
- Understanding of Printed Circuit Board properties and manufacturing process preferred.
- Experience with Schematic/Layout tools: Cadence - HDL Concept & Allegro Viewer preferred.
- Experience with BOM management systems preferred.
- Experience with Bug Tracking system like JIRA preferred.
- Familiarity with component selection tools like IHS/Silicon Expert and Altium.
- Knowledge of Electronic Component Management standards.
- Strong English oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to deal with varied multiple project assignments simultaneously.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- 5 years of related Component Engineering industry experience preferred.
- Experience with OrCad, Allegro. Cadence or Altium software.
- Experience with Solidworks for Mechanical CAD.
- Experience with GIT for Software Development.
- Experience creating/modifying 3D models.
- Experience using a PLM system.
- Familiarity with IPC and/or JEDEC standards for PCBs and components.
- Familiarity with electronic chip and component packaging.
- Basic understanding of PCB manufacturing processes.
- Strong organizational, planning, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion.
- Knowledge of common electronic component types, the functions they serve, and the parameters which define them.
- Experience with Altium Designer and ECAD libraries/library configuration management (e.g., Altium Concord Pro / Vault.)
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturer’s data sheets and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively with engineering teams.
- Willing to travel to U.S. periodically, and has or eligible to obtain valid passport/travel documents.
