**Job Purpose**:
To perform fitting, assembly, and alignment of structural and mechanical components on ships under construction, maintenance, or refit, ensuring accuracy, quality, and adherence to shipbuilding standards.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Read and interpret **engineering drawings, structural blueprints**, and fabrication sketches.
- Carry out **cutting, grinding, drilling, marking, and assembly** of steel plates, pipes, and structural sections.
- Perform **fit-up and alignment** of hull structures, blocks, tanks, bulkheads, foundations, and other ship components.
- Use tools such as **measuring tapes, calipers, levels, plumb lines**, and pneumatic or hand tools.
- Work closely with **welders, fabricators, and engineers** to ensure proper assembly.
- Follow proper procedures for **tack welding** and support welders in the final welding process.
- Adhere to **safety protocols, PPE usage**, and housekeeping practices at the workplace.
- Assist in the installation of **machinery foundations, pipe supports, and structural reinforcements**.
- Maintain tools and report damage or wear to supervisors.
- Work in **confined spaces, at heights**, and onboard ships under construction or repair.

**Required Qualifications**:

- ITI / NCVT / Trade Certificate in **Fitter / Fabrication / Mechanical**:

- **2-5 years of experience** in fitting work in a shipyard or heavy fabrication industry
- Ability to read and interpret **technical drawings and layout plans**:

- Physically fit and capable of handling shipyard working conditions

**Key Skills**:

- Proficient in **structural fitting and alignment**:

- Good understanding of **metal types, fabrication methods, and measurement tools**:

- Basic knowledge of **welding and tack welding practices**:

- Awareness of **shipbuilding safety norms**:

- Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions accurately

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
