**Job Title - **Engineer - Surveillance**:Ops Efficiency and Integration**

**Location - Bangalore**

**Role Description**

You will be a key member of the Operational efficiency and Integration squad that is part of the Transaction Surveillance Tribe.

Transaction Surveillance is an integral part of payments and Cash Management and has been established as a first line of defence function to build appropriate controls to ensure regulatory compliance. This includes sanctions and embargo, Fraud, and other controls.

Operational efficiency and integration function in the transaction surveillance area, offers set of services which combines data from Payment systems and Surveillance providers to automate manual decision making, improve STP (straight through processing) rates and improve Operational efficiency. Integration squad assists in the following areas:

- Design, test, and rollout solutions for above. This can cover simple solutions like identifying and rolling out new rules for improving STP (straight through processing) rates.
- Help to respond to auditory and regulatory bodies request for data (with different geography, payment, customer, and product dimensions).

**Your key responsibilities**
- Help deploy and optimize microservices for above in the bank’s internal cloud platform.
- As part of a development team, collaborate with other team members to understand requirements, analyses and refine stories, design solutions, implement them, test them, and support them in production (in DevOps style).
- Take ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution.

**Your skills and experience**

Skills (Must)
- Proficiency in Java. Specifically Java Spring Framework.
- Java integration with databases, messaging systems, message transformation.
- Proficient in Full stack skillset (NodeJS, JavaScript, ReactJS preferred).
- Proficiency with REST services / APIs (between front end and back-end layer and orchestration between back end services).
- Working knowledge in SQL queries etc.
- Working knowledge of working with basic unix shell scripts(or any other scripting tool) / python etc for troubleshooting.
- Ability to write functional and system test cases.
- Experience and comfortable to work with DevOps (own your stuff end to end) methodology.

Skills (Nice to have)
- Python.
- Knowledge of any one Cloud system (AWS, GCP, Azure, OpenShift). Container, design and deployment of micro services.

Methodology / Process / Domain Expertise / Soft Skills
- Comfortable to work with agile software methodology / agile working teams (must).
- Exposure to agile working model. Exposure to Confluence / Jira tools - a plus.
- Ability to work in big teams with diverse cultural backgrounds across multiple geographies (must).
- Knowledge of finance domain / banks / payments standards a plus (not a must).
- Above average written and verbal communication skills.
