Key Responsibilities

Research & Reporting: Monitor news feeds, press releases, social media, and other sources to identify and pitch compelling story ideas. Conduct interviews and thorough research to gather accurate information and diverse perspectives.

Writing & Content Creation: Write clear, concise, and engaging news articles, breaking news reports, feature stories, and explainers that adhere to our in-house style guide.

Editing & Proofreading: Meticulously self-edit and proofread all content for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and style before publication.

SEO Optimization: Implement SEO best practices in all written content, including keyword research, crafting effective headlines, and writing meta descriptions to maximize online visibility and search engine ranking.

Publishing: Upload and format articles using our Content Management System (CMS) [e.g., WordPress], including sourcing and adding relevant images, videos, and hyperlinks.

Deadline Management: Work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven news environment, managing multiple assignments simultaneously.

Fact-Checking: Uphold the highest standards of journalistic integrity by rigorously fact-checking all information, sources, and quotes.

Collaboration: Collaborate closely with editors, fellow writers, and the multimedia team to ensure cohesive and high-impact content delivery.
