About The Special Project
- Special project for the development of ultra-poor households through the ‘Graduation Approach.’_

The/Nudge Institute is working with the DEENDAYAL ANTYODAYA YOJANA - NRLM-National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM), Govt. of India and State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLMs of Rajasthan, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya and West Bengal) to help scale the graduation approach targeting the poorest of the poor through community institutions promoted by the DAY-NRLM. In this effort, State Project Management Units (SPMUs) are being set up at the respective SRLMs to support the implementation of a special project in the above mentioned States.

To implement the special project under the Innovation Fund Guidelines of the DAY-NRLM, The/Nudge Institute is looking for professionals as District Project Coordinators to be placed at the District Mission/ Project Management Unit (DMMU/ DPMU) of the respective SRLMs.About The/Nudge Institute

The/Nudge Institute is a collective of some of India’s brightest entrepreneurs, leaders, and change-makers, tackling the greatest human development challenge of our times - Poverty. The work is organized across three impact streams:

- Centre for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (CSDE): enables underprivileged youth to lead flourishing lives- Centre for Rural Development (CRD): enables rural families to come out of extreme poverty- Centre for Social Innovation (CSI): nudges top talent to solve India’s biggest challenges

About the DAY-NRLM

The core belief of the DAY-NRLM is that the poor have innate capabilities and a strong desire to come out of poverty. The first step in this process is motivating them to form their own institutions. They and their institutions are provided sufficient capacities to manage the external environment, enabled to access finance and to expand their skills and assets and convert them into meaningful livelihoods. This requires continuous handholding support. An external dedicated, sensitive support structure, from the national level to the sub-district level, is required to induce such social mobilization, institution building and livelihoods promotion.

To develop such an external sensitive support structure, the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India (GoI) has established a separate and autonomous Mission, DAY-NRLM, which works on three pillars - enhancing and expanding existing livelihood options of the poor, building skills for the job market outside, and nurturing self-employed and entrepreneurs.

The DAY-NRLM has an ambitious mandate, conceivably the largest poverty reduction programme in the world, reaching nearly 70 million rural households in India. The aim is to reach all poor rural families and link them to sustainable livelihood opportunities and nurture them till they come out of poverty and enjoy a decent quality of life.

Nature of work and deliverablesThis is a project-based contractual position initially for 2 years with an extension up to 1 more year with The/Nudge Institute. It doesn't guarantee any present/ future contractual/ permanent employment with The/Nudge Institute or/and any concerned/ partner/ related organization, including community institutions.-
- Based on the project's performance, budget availability and requirement, the contract may be extended by The/Nudge Institute.-
- This is a purely field-based job, and a high level of stakeholder management (mainly local gram panchayats and government departments) skills are required.-
- The work demands at least 15-17 days of field visits to different blocks and villages without dependency on any agency/organization/ individual.-
- The work demands a high level of community engagement skills, especially for women from ultra-poor households. Responsibility of any additional work as and when assigned by The/ Nudge Institute/ SRLM.Special Note Decisions of The/Nudge Institute, including relaxation in any selection criteria, shall be treated as final.-
