**Job Description**:
We are looking for an “architect’s architect” who will marshal the systems and technical direction

of our global ecommerce marketplace. In this role, you will design technologies, frameworks,

and solutions that ensure we can achieve near term objectives while gracefully evolving for

future needs.

This is a fun and dynamic role where you can contribute in many ways: from tech lead to

internal evangelist, from member of the technical management team to technical product

manager. The sum of the role is that you will catalyze change for our technical direction and

platform capabilities, working with a large, globally-distributed engineering organization and

cross-functional partners.

Reporting directly to the CTO, this is a Senior Staff individual contributor position (parallel to

Director level). You will play a leadership role working closely with CTO Staff and project leads

on most major initiatives, spanning the Buying Experience, Merchant Experience, Logistics,

Knowledge Engineering, Security, and Infrastructure domains.

We have a technically sophisticated landscape to power the global marketplace. The ideal

architect is very curious, constantly learning, and comfortable operating in a large-scale, highly

complex environment. Very astute technical judgment and a willingness to work at all levels

(including getting deep into the details) is important.

What you'll be doing:

- Develop holistic understanding of the Enterprise platform and business
- Evaluate and propose opportunities to rebuild or strengthen the platform
- Collaborate with domain leads on design of major new systems and services
- Depending on experience and interest, architecture scope can include enterprise,

over time
- Clearly communicate design patterns and convince stakeholders on goals, constraints,

trade offs, and future plans
- Educate engineers, product managers, data scientists, business partners, and others on

the how and why they should adopt plans and designs
- Shape the company’s technical vision with CTO Staff

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 15+ years of overall experience, 3+ years of experience in architecture role
- Theoretical and applied knowledge of a wide range of technologies including storage,

APIs, web services, compute platforms, networking, machine learning, etc; and solid

experience programming in different languages
- Hands-on design, development and operations experience with large scale distributed
- Experience in architecting, designing and building large scale distributed systems both

from scratch and through complex migrations
- Strong ability to influence technical & non-technical stakeholders, and to execute

projects requiring collaboration across multiple teams
- Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical topics
- Self-motivated with bias towards action, relentlessly focused on impact and

force-multiplying the people around you, and able to operate under a great deal of

independence
- Intellectually curious, passionate, and inventive. Strong ownership and drive.

- Graduate degree in Computer Science
- Programming language: Python, Go
- Frontend technologies: React, Javascript, GraphQL
- Main database: MongoDB
- Big data systems: Hadoop, Hive
- Infrastructure: Amazon Web Services (AWS

Pay: ₹690,772.64 - ₹2,090,485.12 per year
