Principal Architect

As a **Principal Architect**at **JPMorgan Chase** within the **Consumer and Community Banking-Core Platform Engineering**, you are the driving force to develop high-quality architecture solutions/patterns for various core platform areas, ranging from Infra as a code for hybrid cloud and on-prem infra provisioning, canary and blue/green deployment, to event driven micro service architectures, etc. You drive significant business impact and help shape the target state architecture through your capabilities in multiple architecture domains.

**Responsibilities**:

- Advise cross-functional teams on technology selection to achieve target state architecture and decisions on improvements to current technologies.
- Develop multi-year roadmaps aligned with business and architecture strategy and priorities
- Create complex and scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design
- Develop secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Contribute to the development of technical methods in specialized fields in line with the latest product development methodologies
- Create durable, reusable software frameworks that improves velocity and quality of output across teams and functions
- Champion the firm’s culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

**Required qualifications, capabilities and skills**
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Expertise in Java programming language.
- Experience with OpenTelemetry and observability tools and platforms such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Jaeger, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or similar.
- Strong understanding of observability principles, including logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
- Ability to present and effectively communicate to senior leaders and executives
- Practical cloud native experience

**Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills**
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Prior experience on Infra and Platform as a Service, canary and blue/green deployment, progressive rollout.
