Review medical records to ensure that the documentation supports the level of care rendered and services billed

Identify any discrepancies and take appropriate action to resolve them

Maintain a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Follow up on missing or incomplete information

Stay abreast of updates and changes in coding, billing, and reimbursement regulations

Meet established deadlines for completing reviews

Prepare detailed reports summarizing findings

Participate in educational opportunities to keep skills current

Serve as a resource to other members of the team

Assist with special projects as needed

Adhere to all HIPAA privacy and security regulations
