Piping Supervisor (Shipyard Experience)

Location: Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Job Summary:
The Piping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning of piping systems on vessels and shipyard projects. The role involves ensuring that all work complies with shipyard standards, project specifications, safety regulations, and client requirements. The Piping Supervisor will lead and coordinate a team of workers, liaise with project managers and engineers, and ensure timely completion of piping-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Execution:

- Supervise and monitor the installation and maintenance of piping systems on ships, offshore platforms, and other marine structures.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
- Plan and allocate resources, including labor, equipment, and materials, to meet project timelines.

2. Team Leadership:

- Manage a team of piping foremen, welders, fitters, and other technicians.
- Provide guidance, training, and technical support to team members.
- Monitor performance, ensure adherence to quality standards, and maintain a productive work environment.

3. Quality Assurance:

- Inspect work to ensure compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and shipyard protocols.
- Conduct pre-commissioning checks, hydrostatic testing, and other inspections as required.
- Identify and resolve technical issues or defects in a timely manner.

4. Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE):

- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings with the team.
- Investigate and report incidents, accidents, or near-misses.

5. Coordination and Reporting:

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other supervisors to align piping activities with overall project plans.
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, material usage, and labor hours.
- Provide regular updates and reports on project status to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:

- 5+ years of experience in shipyard piping installation, maintenance, or supervision.
- Strong knowledge of piping materials, fabrication techniques, and testing procedures.
- Familiarity with shipyard standards, classification societies, and marine codes (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd's Register).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and isometric diagrams.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Good communication in English.

Work Environment:

- Primarily works on-site in shipyard environments, which may include exposure to outdoor weather conditions, noise, and confined spaces.
- May require extended hours and shift work to meet project deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

- Experience with piping systems in vessels such as tankers, Bulk/Container vessels and offshore rigs.
- Knowledge of advanced welding techniques and piping tools.

Pay: Up to ₹60,488.18 per month
