Job Description for Lecturer in Medical Laboratory Technology

**Job Title**: Lecturer in Allied Health Science
**Department**: Allied Health Sciences
**Reporting To**: Head of the Institution
**Employment Type**: Full-Time

**Job Summary**

The Lecturer in Medical LaboratoryTechnology is responsible for teaching, mentoring, and conducting research in the field of medical laboratory science. The role requires delivering lectures, overseeing practical sessions, preparing course materials, and guiding students in their academic and professional development. The position also includes contributing to the institution's research objectives and participating in curriculum development.

**Key Responsibilities Teaching and Learning**
- Deliver lectures and practical sessions in core areas of medical laboratory technology, including clinical biochemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, and molecular diagnostics.
- Develop and update course materials, lecture notes, and laboratory manuals to ensure alignment with current industry standards and scientific advancements.
- Mentor and support students in their academic progress, research projects, and internships.
- Evaluate and grade student assignments, lab reports, and examinations.
- Integrate modern teaching methods and technology, such as e-learning platforms and simulation tools, into the curriculum.

**Research and Development**
- Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed journals within the field of medical laboratory science.
- Secure funding for research projects and collaborate with other faculty members or institutions.
- Encourage and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate research activities.

**Administrative Duties**
- Participate in curriculum planning, program reviews, and accreditation processes.
- Attend departmental meetings, academic events, and professional development workshops.
- Assist in the organization of seminars, conferences, and workshops related to medical laboratory technology.

**Other Responsibilities**
- Stay updated on advancements in medical laboratory techniques and share knowledge with students and colleagues.
- Collaborate with clinical laboratories, hospitals, and industry partners for internships and training opportunities.
- Adhere to institutional policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.

**Qualifications and Skills Educational Qualifications**
- A Master’s or Ph.D. in Medical Laboratory Technology, Specialized in (Hematology & transfusion medicine or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., ASCP, AMT, or equivalent) are an added advantage.

**Experience**
- Freshers / 1 - 3 years of teaching experience
- Teaching experience in medical laboratory technology or allied health sciences is preferred.
- Practical experience in clinical or diagnostic laboratory settings is highly desirable.

**Key Skills**
- Strong knowledge of medical laboratory techniques and instrumentation.
- Excellent teaching, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and laboratory equipment.
- Ability to mentor and inspire students.
- Strong research and analytical skills.

**Work Environment**
- Classroom and laboratory-based teaching environment.
- May require occasional travel for academic or research collaborations.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
