**Role description**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- **SQL Server Installation & Configuration**: Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances and databases to ensure their smooth operation.
- **Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting**: Continuously monitor SQL Server performance, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot to maintain high availability and optimal performance.
- **Query & Database Optimization**: Optimize SQL queries and database structures to enhance overall system performance.
- **Data Security & Backup Management**: Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data. Configure and manage regular database backups and restore processes to prevent data loss.
- **Documentation Management**: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- **Capacity Planning & Upgrades**: Conduct capacity planning and recommend necessary hardware and software upgrades to ensure database performance scalability.
- **Industry Trends & Best Practices**: Stay updated on the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in database management.

**Qualifications**:

- **Educational Background**: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- **Professional Experience**: 8 to 12 years of experience as a SQL Database Administrator or in a similar database management role.
- **Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database optimization techniques.
- Hands-on experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Familiarity with database replication, clustering, and failover techniques.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, database design, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- **Problem-Solving & Attention to Detail**: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- **Communication & Collaboration**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
