Introduction
We are looking to add a QA Automation engineer/lead to join our qualified and diverse development team, building a Data Lake on Hadoop platform.
- Capture the product vision and document QA requirements / user stories, prepare and executing testing scripts
- Write and execute QA user cases adhering to standard and meeting user requirements.
- Collaborate with BA, Dev and stakeholders to prioritise and manage successful delivery of a leading edge product that satisfies our business’ needs.
- Providing regular updates to the delivery / project manager and stakeholders regarding progress

What will you be doing?
- Hands on automation experience. Lead automation activity to provide cost effective solutions.
- Experienced in writing Test Plan/Strategy for complicated technical and functional projects.
- Excellent in verbal and written communicator and have strong organization skills, with ability to liaise at all levels of the organization
- Develop a good understanding of the Compliance System(s) under test.
- Control and monitor testing progress, defect tracking and maintaining appropriate metrics.
- Adhere to the project testing schedules and flag immediately if there is a risk of slippage.
- Detailed hands on testing of new functionalities & regression of existing functionalities
- Identifying test conditions from project documentation/JIRA Stories and developing test cases which provide full coverage
- Work & collaborate with the global team with people from diverse cultural backgrounds such as Developers, QA BA’s & Business Stakeholders
- Responsible for test execution plans
- Experience of working in agile projects.

What we’re looking for:

- Should have worked minimum 5+ years in ETL/DataWarehousing/Data Lake projects
- Strong SQL, PL/SQL skills
- Extensive experience of working in Agile methodologies with automating test cases/scenario
- UNIX, Shell scripting
- Hadoop, HIVE/Impala
- Python, Spark exposure is preferred
- Cloud exposure is preferred
- Selenium with Java
- Behaviour driven development practices (Cucumber, jBehave etc)
- JIRA
- Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deliver results.
- Should be Proactive, self starter and with ability to quickly build trust/credibility
- Familiarity with the concept of a Backlog and working within a scrum (or other agile) team. Experience of working with product requirements, features, and user stories required (preferred). High level of proficiency in AGILE BA/QA frameworks and tools like JIRA, Agile Central, Confluence etc.

- Should be good with analysing the Data scenarios and profile them to maximise test coverage
- Extensive experience in financial services or highly regulated industry
