Position Summary

Job Objective

Working with diverse teams and global stakeholders, SAP S4 Data Migration Expert will deliver SAP data migration and governance on SAP ECC, S4 platforms. The data migration expert will work with business and S4 deployment project team. Will collaborate with various business leaders to identify data sources, technical options of ETL, build and configure the ETL tools (mainly BODS) and then validate data at each stage with business. Expert will own design and setup of overall data migration stream. In long term, the data migration expert will also work on designing and implementing SAP MDG and information steward solutions for master data governance. Contribute towards the design and implementation of SAP technical standards and processes for data migration as well as master data governance areas. Expert will also drive continuous improvement on SAP platforms architectural, technical standards, bring in and implement best in class practices for data migration and governance, and influence IT policies and procedures to enable the same.

Job responsibilities
- Identify data migration scope and entities in detail working with S4 project and business team
- Define, monitor and ensure and end to end data migration process to deliver S4 Greenfield deployment
- Understand and leverage SAP BODS and other migration tools to deliver ETL objectives with appropriate build-test-deploy SDLC activities during implementation
- Own and coordinate data validations with business for all relevant data entities
- Manage progress tracking for various stages of project for data migration stream showing progress, gaps, improvements needed etc. along with relevant solution.
- Troubleshoot day to day issues related to migration programs and migration exercise.
- Work with internal and external project team members to deliver various project milestones as per agreed plans.
- Contribute towards planning and delivering overall program with stream specific plan, progress, issue tracking and risk management.
- Work with business and IT team to transform S4 data migration stream to Master Data Governance objectives and its best practices leveraging solutions like MDG and information steward
- Provides insights and contribute towards ensuring right Data solution and architecture across functional streams of SAP-MM, SD, PP and FI.
- Demonstrate technology thought leadership by evaluating new technologies and platforms to identify opportunities for improving the SAP environment, developing SAP technology roadmap for SAP Data Migration and Master Data Governance in line with organization’s system requirements and SAP product developments. Drive best utilization of SAP investments especially on Solution Manager.
- Ensure high quality, up-to-date documentation and reliable knowledge base on data migration processes and tools. Create & maintain documentation on system configurations, maintenance processes. (e. g. Technical Architecture Documents, Standard Operating Procedures & Execution Process Documents)
- Drive continuous operational excellence by creating reports, analysing and interpreting data, tracking lead times/SLA/KPIs and recurring issues etc. Analyse trends based on key issues identified through report and feedbacks. Identify underlying problem areas and work towards fixing the same for both technical solution as well as service delivery processes.
- Identify and implement innovation and automation opportunities for delivery/ monitoring and day to day system governance processes; implement right toolsets, make most out of SAP investments, identify opportunities to reduce TCO for SAP, drive the function to become more scalable to meet business growth at rapid pace
