Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM) is one of the pioneer organizations in the field of education. Its first institution started in the year 1934 in wake of national movement by converting the Rashtriya Shaala into “Smt.Gokalibai P. P. High School” which progressed into popular Gujarati Semi English medium school. In 1990 “Acharya A.V. Patel Junior College (Science with Bifocal Computer)”was of established under the benevolence of the Ex-principal of Gokalibai “Shri Acharya Ambalal V. Patel”

Later on new divisions of General Science (IT) in 1994 and Electronics (Unaided) in 2005 were added. Over the years the college has grown by leaps and bounds and today it has created a name for itself. SVKM decided to further expand Junior College by starting the Commerce Stream (Unaided) from 2013.

The School and College are affiliated to Maharashtra State Board.

It has spacious Library having more than 8,000 books.

The School and College hold “Performance Improvement Program (PIP)” for the students appearing for the Board Exams. The program involves brushing and revision of important topics which are difficult to understand & to guide the students for final preparation of boards.

In-house training sessions are held to enhance their skills for competitive exams and give them an opportunity to enter the most reputed Engineering / Medical Institutes all over nation.

We have spacious, airy and well maintained classrooms and Laboratories, some of which are air-conditioned. We also have Interactive Boards in few classrooms & Lab to facilitate teaching learning process.

To nurture & enhance the cultural, literary & artistic talents & skills amongst students, the Inter
- college competition “LAHER” was started from 2016-17 onwards.

To encourage students to participate in different sports events held by District, State & other Institutes, Sports training is imparted by Physical Education teacher under guidance of SVKM Management.

Students are guided periodically regarding various career options in different fields and counseled regarding future prospects through Career Counseling sessions.
