About the Role

Within our Science, Technology and Medical Journal (STMJ) we are hiring an Associate Scientific Editors to join the Author Heroes team. In this role you will use your scientific expertise and problem-solving skills to improve the author experience and help authors find a suitable home for their paper.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assessing submitted research papers to identify potential content for our publications
- Contributing to Author Heroes team and innovation projects by identifying exciting new topics and research.
- Evaluating content as a partner to external editors,
- Be involved to improve the editorial process for editors and reviewers,
- Engaging closely with authors to help them improve their manuscripts,
- Helping authors increase their odds of success to be published in another journal if rejected from their first choice.

**Requirements**:

- Have a doctoral in the food sciences
- Must have published papers in scientific journals
- Be Technology savvy, familiar with online platforms, social media and digital content
- Have scientific interest and desire to serve and help customers in the scientific and clinical community: authors, editors and reviewers
- Have an exceptional command of the English language and the ability to write in an engaging and interesting manner
- Have excellent organizational skills and be able to adapt and flex to deliver multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
- Be able to think critically and creatively to resolve problems and implement solutions
- Be willing to learn and absorb new areas of research
