Business Description

**Overview**: Global Technology Infrastructure team is responsible for delivering infrastructure solutions to the other groups(LOB). These solutions are predominantly used in global operations.

- Hands-on technical requirement- Monitoring our work delivery mechanisms (chat channel, change systems, and request systems) for incoming work.- Working outside core business hours when required (this will include becoming part of weekend on-call support and planned work rota system where appropriate).- Co-ordinating server outages/upgrades with relevant teams.- Building/upgrading ASE servers, adhering to bank deployment and security standards.**Required Technical skills**
- Very strong Sybase ASE (15, 12.5)- Sybase Replication Server V12- ASE/Repserver Internals- Strong Performance and Tuning Skills- Strong UNIX understanding & command line skills**Optional Skills**
- Strong Perl, Shell scripting- Exposure to SUN Solaris- Exposure to Tivoli, Enterprise Security Manager is a plus- Experience with SSH and its configuration**Personel**
- Self-starter with ability to acquire new skills autonomously- Demonstrate good written and verbal communication skills to drive projects to successful conclusion- Provide coaching and receive assistance when required.**Team Structure**
- The position reports to Manager Locally and Globally. 24x7 on-call support on a rota basis is expected.**Experienced Required**
- Excellent technical knowledge gained from a hands on role within a global organization.- Experience of Sybase ASE in a mission critical environment- Experience of Sybase Replication Server in a commercial environment
