Machine Shop Incharge

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Supervision and Leadership**:

- Lead, supervise, and train machine shop personnel.
- Ensure that all operators and machinists follow safety protocols, production schedules, and quality standards.
- Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and resolve any issues related to productivity or behavior.
- Organize shift schedules and manage the workforce efficiently.
- **Production Management**:

- Plan and prioritize daily production activities to meet deadlines and customer demands.
- Oversee the setup, operation, and maintenance of machines like CNC machines, lathes, milling machines, grinders, etc.
- Ensure the timely completion of all machining projects.
- Monitor the quality of parts produced, ensuring they meet specifications.
- Identify and resolve any issues affecting machine performance, quality, or production timelines.
- **Quality Control**:

- Ensure that all finished products meet the specified tolerances and quality standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and the output produced.
- Work closely with the quality control team to address and resolve non-conformance issues.
- **Maintenance and Equipment Management**:

- Oversee the regular maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Coordinate repairs and troubleshooting with the maintenance department or external contractors.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools required for the machine shop.
- **Safety and Compliance**:

- Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and training programs for employees.
- Ensure that all equipment is regularly inspected and certified for safety.
- **Resource Management**:

- Manage raw material inventory to ensure that production is not delayed due to shortages.
- Oversee the proper storage and handling of materials and tools.
- Coordinate with the purchasing department to order supplies as needed.
- **Reporting and Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate records of production output, machine downtime, and any issues that arise.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on the status of operations, production metrics, and any challenges faced.
- **Continuous Improvement**:

- Identify opportunities for process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead initiatives for implementing lean manufacturing or other process improvement methodologies.

**Required Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Education**: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or certification in manufacturing, machining, or engineering is preferred.
- **Experience**: 3-5 years of experience in a machine shop, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- **Technical Skills**: Proficiency in operating and maintaining machine tools (e.g., CNC machines, lathes, mills), reading technical drawings, and understanding machining processes.
- **Leadership**: Strong team management and communication skills.
- **Problem-Solving**: Ability to troubleshoot machine issues and identify improvements in processes.
- **Safety Awareness**: In-depth knowledge of machine shop safety protocols and the ability to enforce them.
- **Software**: Familiarity with software tools used in manufacturing, such as CAD/CAM software, ERP systems, or inventory management software.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
