Job Title: Lab Technician - Biochemistry

Reports to: Senior Scientist/ Laboratory Manager

Job Summary:
Perform biochemistry tests, operate automated machines, and maintain quality control standards in compliance with NABL guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical:
1. Conduct biochemistry tests (e.g., blood glucose, lipid profiles, liver function tests) using automated analyzers.

2. Operate and maintain biochemistry instruments (e.g., Beckman Coulter, Siemens).

3. Calibrate and troubleshoot equipment as needed.

4. Analyze and report test results accurately.

Quality Control:
1. Adhere to NABL guidelines and ISO 15189 standards.

2. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.

3. Monitor and control quality indicators.

Safety and Biosecurity:
1. Follow biosafety guidelines and protocols.

2. Handle biohazardous materials and chemicals safely.

Documentation and Communication:
1. Maintain laboratory records, reports, and documentation.

2. Communicate test results to healthcare professionals and patients.

**Requirements**:
**Education**:
1. (link unavailable) in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) or equivalent.

**Experience**:
1. 2-3 years of experience in biochemistry laboratory settings.

**Skills**:1. Hands-on experience with automated biochemistry analyzers.

2. Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance principles.

3. Analytical and problem-solving skills.

4. Attention to detail and accuracy.

Desirable:
Certifications:
1. NABL-certified laboratory professional.

2. ISO 15189 training.

Additional Skills:
1. Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS).

2. Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and software.
