Level Designer

In this role, you'll be the architect of fun, building immersive game worlds that challenge and enthral players. You'll leverage your knowledge of Unreal Engine and/or Unity to bring your level design ideas to life, working alongside artists, programmers, and other designers to craft unforgettable gameplay moments.

**Responsibilities**:

- Collaborate with game designers to translate game concepts and mechanics into engaging level layouts and objectives.
- Design levels that provide a satisfying flow of difficulty, pacing, and challenge for players.
- Utilize Unreal Engine or Unity's level editing tools to build and iterate on level environments.
- Place gameplay objects, characters, enemies, and triggers to create interactive and dynamic experiences.
- Playtest levels extensively, identify bugs and balance issues and implement improvements based on feedback.
- Contribute to the overall narrative flow of the game through level design.
- Stay up-to-date on level design trends and best practices in Unreal Engine and Unity.

**Skills & Requirements**:

- Strong understanding of game design principles, including pacing, difficulty curves, and player psychology.
- Experience using level editing tools in Unreal Engine or Unity (ideally both).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and fix gameplay issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a development team.
- A creative mind with a passion for crafting fun and engaging gameplay experiences.
- Familiarity with various game genres and a strong understanding of what makes a level "good."

**Bonus Points**:

- Experience with scripting languages used in game engines (e.g., Blueprint in Unreal Engine).
- Portfolio showcasing your level design work or relevant mods/maps created in Unreal Engine or Unity.
- Experience with prototyping tools and level design software.
- 3D modeling or environment art skills (a plus for well-rounded level designers).
