**Job Summary**:
The Staff Nurse in a Level 1 NICU provides care to healthy newborns and those requiring mínimal medical support. This role involves newborn assessments, basic nursing care, and parent education, with a focus on supporting neonatal adaptation and safe discharge.

**Key Responsibilities:Clinical Duties**:

- Provide routine care for healthy, full-term newborns.
- Perform comprehensive newborn assessments, including APGAR scoring and routine screenings (hearing, metabolic, jaundice, etc.).
- Monitor vital signs, intake/output, and weight.
- Administer prescribed medications, vitamin K, hepatitis B vaccination, and erythromycin eye prophylaxis.
- Support thermoregulation, feeding (breast or bottle), and safe sleep practices.
- Identify signs of common neonatal conditions (e.g., jaundice, hypoglycemia) and report changes promptly.
- Assist with newborn resuscitation and stabilization if needed before transfer to higher-level care.

**Parent and Family Support**:

- Educate and support parents on newborn care, feeding techniques, hygiene, and safe sleep.
- Promote bonding and early skin-to-skin contact.
- Support and assist with breastfeeding per Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) practices.

**Teamwork and Communication**:

- Collaborate with pediatricians, lactation consultants, and maternity staff.
- Participate in shift handovers and multidisciplinary rounds.
- Communicate effectively with families and team members.

**Documentation and Safety**:

- Accurately document care in medical records and electronic health systems.
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols.
- Participate in quality improvement and staff development initiatives.

**Qualifications**:

- Registered Nurse (RN) license - valid and in good standing.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred or must be obtained within 6 months.
- Prior experience in newborn or maternity nursing preferred.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
