Platform Owner

Purpose of This Role

Platform Owner - Cloud and Hosting Services will be responsible for overall hosting infrastructure at COLOs and Cloud. Responsibilities include managing new enterprise solutions, enabling new platforms, securing the environment through tactical change management, as well as working in a cross-organizational fashion to consult and enable these services. The position will require a disciplined approach towards ITSM methodologies ensuring the delivery of information technology services to meet the needs of the business community.
- Platform Owner will define roadmap to cloud, demand management for hosting services
- Manage team of internal and partner resources.
- Drive delivery excellence with highly available infrastructure capable of 24x7x365 business operations with a track record of managing teams that supported engineering highly available services
- Manage lifecycle of hosting infrastructure and services.
- Define and maintain hosting (cloud & on-prem) policies, processes, DLPs & standards.
- Establish architectural standards meeting functional and non-functional requirements by business.
- Identify areas of improvement, optimization, automation, process simplification etc and deliver value to business.
- Accountable for financial planning & delivering optimization targets for hosting services.
- Drive multi-cloud environment for Garrett business.
- Implement and maintain Hybrid Data Center Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) strategies and hot-site operational planning highly-availability of servers and network architectures.
- Setup and run the governance with the partners. Build strategic relationships for creating value for the organization.
- Participate in the formulation of the company's enterprise architecture and business system plans; assessing cost and feasibility, and ensuring the plan is aligned with and supports the strategic goals of the business.
- Hands-on technical depth enables direct oversight, problem-solving leadership and participation for complex infrastructure implementation, system upgrades and operational troubleshooting.

**Education**:
Bachelor’s degree in Technology / Computer / Engineering

**Experience**:
10-15 years in the role of delivering IT services to business or consumers

At least 5+ Years of architecture / engineering / consulting experience in defining, developing Data Center and/or Cloud (AWS/Google/Azure) strategic roadmap

At least 3 yrs of people management experience.

**Key Skills**:

- Working knowledge of private cloud virtualized infrastructure needs as well as public cloud, along with high level understanding of needs pertaining to Relational Databases
- Deep knowledge of Infrastructure technologies, data center, server, virtualization, storage and disaster recovery/business continuity
- Experience with Cloud Computing platforms like Amazon AWS, Microsoft’s Azure Google cloud.
- Demonstrated skills in private and public cloud solutions, hyperconverged, OpenStack and VMware, EMC and Cisco technologies (Vblock preferred).
- Experience on architecting and designing automation solution on Cloud (IAAS, PAAS, SAAS) on an enterprise level
- Ability to communicate equally effectively to Engineers, Product Managers, Sales, Customer Satisfaction, and Executives
- Working knowledge of private cloud virtualized infrastructure needs as well as public cloud, along with high level understanding of needs pertaining to Relational Databases
- A strong understanding of Hybrid Data Center Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) strategies and hot-site operational planning is highly desirable
- Experience in defining & implementing & Managing Software Defined Data Center Technologies
- Experience with operating system (Microsoft Windows & Linux) Citrix, Data Domain, VMAX
- Experience of managing service contracts, from a service and financial perspective. Strong GXP experience and proven experience of managing in a highly regulated environment
- Experience in adhering and managing to SOX compliance and controls.
- Hands-on experience of formal outsourcing processes and methodologies. Ability to work with Service Providers to ensure effective operations and agreed upon service levels.
